"Taffy" Sequel Promises Laughs

“The Taffy Opry” gang is back at it again! The Henderson Fine Arts Center will present the sequel, “Taffy Goes to War”, this month.

The musical features most of the Taffy characters you've come to know during the WSON radio spots, "On The Front Porch" and the patriotic music of the Highway 41 bluegrass band.

Local writer and humorist Bob Park created the hilarious cast of characters who are struggling with the personal hardships of war and their small community’s ability to help in the efforts. This musical, a benefit for the Downtown Henderson Project, is guaranteed to bring laughter to audiences of all ages.

The two-act play includes original music, popular songs of the era (such as "Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree," "When The Lights Go On Again All Over The World," "How You Gonna Keep Them Down On The Farm?" and "Sentimental Journey") and a salute to the troops.

Two performances of the show are set for Saturday, Feb. 27 at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 28 at 3:00 p.m., at the Henderson Fine Arts Center. Tickets are $22 and $12 and are on sale at the Downtown Henderson Project office at 131 N. Main Street.

For more information, contact the DHP at (270) 827-0016.
