Doktor Kaboom! Is Back By Popular Demand

Doktor Kaboom! performs original interactive Science Comedy shows for audiences of all ages. Creatively blending theatre arts with the wonders of scientific exploration, Doktor Kaboom! keeps his crowds riveted with interest and rolling with laughter. Join Kaboom! for a sidesplitting journey of increasingly spectacular (and often successful) science experiments designed to involve, excite, educate and entertain.

As always, COME EARLY! Be the scientist at the pre-show event with Kara Becker from the University of Southern Indiana SwISTEM Resource Center. Pre-show activities include making Silly Putty, creating Chromatography Butterflies, launching Pop Rockets, and producing Carbon Dioxide balloons, just to name a few. Pre-show activities will begin at 1:00 in the foyer and are FREE!

Tickets for the show are just $10. Groups of 10 or more are eligible for seating at a discounted rate. Tickets can be purchased by phone at 270.831.9800 or at the Henderson Fine Arts Center Box Office, 2660 S. Green Street. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 10a.m. to 4p.m. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover accepted.

The Henderson Area Arts Alliance offers a shuttle service to patrons unable to drive to the Henderson Fine Arts Center. The shuttle pick up point is Central Park in downtown Henderson. Round trip tickets are $5. Call the Henderson Area Arts Alliance for reservations at 270.826.5916.

Gallery Hop Offers Art & Fun For Community

Be part of the excitement in downtown Henderson, KY on Friday, November 5, 2010! This evening is the 2nd Annual WOW! Friday Gallery Hop and Art Sale from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

This unique and wildly popular event allows you to enjoy the night as tri-state artists display their "Wonderful Original Works" of art for the community to view as well as purchase. We have 39 artists that will be found in nine different locations in downtown Henderson! You can do some 'window shopping' and view a sampling of what you will experience the night of the Gallery Hop. Several of the Gallery Hop locations will have displays in their windows and some of the restaurants will also feature art work. The public can also view art pieces at on the D.H.P. web site

Get Spooked in Henderson!

This year, Henderson is offering several safe, fun Halloween activities for both little ones and an older crowd.

The annual Spooks and Legends Walking Tour will be held Saturday, October 16 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. This tour highlights some of the spooky folklore and legends of Henderson County. There have been several additions this year, so feel free to come if you've been before! Meet at The Depot at 101 N. Water St.

Audubon State Park will offer two events this year. On Monday, October 25 at 6 p.m., join members of the Paranormal Investigators of Henderson, Kentucky at the Audubon Museum as they discuss their latest search into ghost stories and sightings. This free program gives onlookers a chance to learn about this group, their experiences and recent research.

On Saturday, October 30 from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m., the park will present Halloween Spooktacular for children. This event will feature, pumpkin painting, magicians, Halloween photos, food and a special haunted trail. The program costs $2 per person. Ages 3 and under are free.

The annual Downtown Trick or Treat and Halloween parade will be held Friday, October 29 at 5 p.m. The community is invited for safe trick or treating at downtown businesses before the parade from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.

For those looking for a great place to pick pumpkins and explore a corn maze, Cate’s Corn Maze is open now until Halloween. The farm is located on Highway 1217 at Box #8132. The public if invited to explore the farm and children will love the games and obstacles set up outside.

4th Annual Fall Festivals Offers Tons of Free Activites (And Hot Dogs, Too!)

Looking for something FREE and FUN to do with the family this October?

Come to Landmark Missionary Baptist Church for their 4th Annual Fall Festival. Events will take place October 9th, from 1-5pm. The church is located at 7923 US Highway 41 A (2 miles South of 425 bypass). The festival and all events are completely free to the public.

Enjoy games, hay rides, a cake walk, face painting and free hot dogs!
